Painted Hills, John Day Fossil Beds, OR.
If there is one location in the Pacific Northwest that I want to shoot at, this has been high on the list. Landscapes are beautiful, but I need a person in the frame! Wedding, portrait, editorial – pretty much anyone would look fantastic with this dramatic backdrop. From the road, it really does not look like much. The closer and higher you get, the more impressive it becomes. I nearly used it a few years ago for a wedding. Two hours from Bend, OR – it’s a lot of driving for less than an hour of shooting. So, it remains on the list – for now! After ten-years of waiting, this might be the year.
