Every time I drive by the Creswell exit on I-5, I think of Camille and Casey’s country wedding. Yesterday was no exception. A very small wedding with family and friends, set in pastoral Creswell, OR. The ceremony was at the Cloverdale Chapel and the reception in the old schoolhouse. A wonderful place for a wedding, filled with history and rustic rural charm. I’m sure that Camille cringes when these reappear, but there were some great moments. Like many marriages: those happy beginnings have a story that ends.

If there is one location in the Pacific Northwest that I want to shoot at, this has been high on the list. Landscapes are beautiful, but I need a person in the frame! Wedding, portrait, editorial – pretty much anyone would look fantastic with this dramatic backdrop. From the road, it really does not look like much. The closer and higher you get, the more impressive it becomes. I nearly used it a few years ago for a wedding. Two hours from Bend, OR – it’s a lot of driving for less than an hour of shooting. So, it remains on the list – for now! After ten-years of waiting, this might be the year.
